The National Development and Reform Commission said on 4th that by the end of December 2019, the number of highway ETC users will exceed 180 million nationwide, and highway toll gates will be fully covered by ETC.
According to the Scheme of Accelerating the Implementation of Highway ETC Application Service issued jointly by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China recently, ETC lanes will become the main toll lanes by the end of December 2019, and trucks will be charged without parking, and the rate of speedy toll collection without parking on highways will reach more than 90%. All manual toll lanes will support electronic toll collection methods such as mobile payment, and significantly improve the service level of non-stop toll collection. By 2025, the number of ETC users in China will be further increased, and the highway ETC system with advanced technology, perfect system, high quality service and stable operation will be built.
