Message from www.cs.com.cn (by Cui Xiaosu) On December 9, Li Xiaopeng, Minister of Transportation, presided over a ministerial meeting, indicating that the principles of encouraging innovation, diversified development, pilot first and ensuring safety should be adhered to promote the development and application of autonomous driving technologies in road traffic. It is necessary to plan the scientific research resources from the overall perspective and focus on solving the problems in application of key autonomous driving technologies in the industry through taking the technological research and development as the support, taking the application demonstration as the guide, and taking policies and standards as the guarantee. Based on the pilot work carried out for building a powerful transportation country, a number of pilot application demonstration projects of autonomous driving will be planned and organized in local level under the guidance from central government.
